I’m an Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist registered with the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists and the UK Council for Psychotherapy as an Independent Integrative Counsellor Psychotherapist. I have more than 25 years of clinical experience as an Organisational Consultant in the design and delivery of interpersonal skills training and developmental programmes.
Work Experience
Since 2005, I’ve lectured at the University of Leicester, teaching courses ranging from Introduction to Counselling Skills to the university’s 2 year counselling course.
From 2005 to 2008, I worked as a psychotherapist for Nottingham City Council, receiving workplace referrals requiring short-term counselling.
Between 2000 and 2004, I was a therapist for the Humberstone Grange Psychotherapy Department of the Leicestershire Partnership National Health Service Trust and established a private practice helping individuals and couples.
In 1999, I worked as a counsellor and coordinator for the Leicestershire Domestic Violence Service and a project dealing with survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
Between 1989 and 1998, I worked with several not-for-profit organisations including:
- The Haven Project Refuge for Women Survivors of Domestic Violence
- Roof Group Refuge for Women Survivors of Domestic Violence
- Leicester Rape Crisis Centre
